Dave Ramsey details a plan that he says could really help to clean up a lot of the mess before we jump headfirst into a governmental bailout. I'm not sure if I can legally copy any of the summary from his website so I'll just post the link to the site.

I don't know if we have the time for his idea to take affect. I believe in Dave Ramsey's programs. I have seen many people helped. However, the problem right now is that time is of the essence. What happens in the US affects the world.

That may be true, but when the politicians want to use boat-loads of my money to bail out bad business decisions, greed, irresponsible homeowners and quite possibly fraud, they had better be damn sure they have at least explored other options that might have me on the hook for less! Can you really trust a politician in an election year?

I agree with you, but unfortunately, we are in the mess right now. I am not too sure this is something that we can just put off and hope that someone's idea works. This is a crisis that requires action before our country is permanently damaged. It probably is going to hurt all of us for a while, but in the bigger picture, we may have to sacrifice to save the future of today's children.
