I VOTED! lines were long....
Early voting in Iowa. Been going on since like Oct 6th or something, Thursday/today is the last early vote day. The lines were steady - pretty good number of people were there while we were. If that's an indication, the voting in Iowa is probably half done in my estimation. Too bad because McCain is actually gaining ground here in Iowa, but early voters will have locked in for Obamanation.
Barbara asked my opinion on things. I told her - she was POed after I suggested Bush last time, and then we see what has happened. I said McCain is no Bush, McCain is a Republican in name only, he'll be more down the middle, but more-so, we need Sarah in office to open things up for women. She perked up to that!
I said had Hillary been the Democrat in this, I'd have said "vote how you feel, be honest" but in this case, we can't afford Obama, and listed several reasons (none of them actually related to the domestic terrorist thing, all tax and health related) and said we need John and Sarah now to fix these messes.
Barbara is handicapped - birth defect, and it impacted her childhood and work abilities. She's sensitive to the needs of handicapped people, and I believe in her heart, Sarah is too.
I also explained how the Democrats wanted to remove the Bush tax cuts, tax businesses, which are already leaving the states, and how they were involved in Fannie and Freddie........... and if Obama DID get in, and the Dems were ALSO in charge of the senate and house................
She marked the straight Republican box as did I, that was that.

I'm going to mail my frickin' ballot tomorrow - so is my 18-year-old son, another youth for McCain voter.
Iowa, eh BillD? Supposedly that state is "firmly in the Obama camp", but I hear both McCain AND Palin are both stopping by there, they must think Iowa is somewhat winnable for them, to be there this late.

My thoughts exactly.
Honestly, if you go by signs and stickers, it's pretty even.............. more rural for McCain, more urban for Obama.
