What Change Can We Really Expect?
If McCain/Palin win in November, what change can we really expect in Washington? Will he really veto omnibus bills because they have earmarks attached? Will he have the political clout to stare down powerful interests? Will he really be able to place another conservative on the court? Will Palin take a more active roll in the Senate? Will we get an immigration bill passed? Can the two of them make government more transparent? Not limited to these questions, what change do you expect or hope for?

I don't expect any big change until Sarah takes over the Presidency. But in contrast to Obama change, I like things just the way they are.

The reason I'm asking this question is because "change" seems to be the theme of this election, but it's not likely that a GOP President will be able to affect much of his agenda working with a Democratic congress. So, I'm hoping we can do two things. 1) Get real about the prospects for legislative action, and 2) Start thinking about real changes McCain-Palin would bring.
Here's my contribution.
McCain-Palin would have a profoundly positive impact on troop moral. The uniforms I know respect President Bush, but many have been disillusioned by what they see as strategic and tactical mistakes. While Bush really did serve honorably in uniform, he never sacrificed his own liberty or comfort the way we're asking our troops to sacrifice today. McCain got the Surge right. They will trust him to lead with the heart of a tested patriot and the mind of a proven strategist. And then there's "Sarah." She would probably make many trips to Iraq and Afghanistan. I think the guys would like that.

Re: What Change Can We Really Expect?
Less waste, more business friendly atmosphere (that's what drives the economy), fewer "earmarks"/less pork.
I'll be safer feeling......... perhaps firmer law and order.
Guns will be safe, our rights under the constitution less challenged.
McCain can and has historically worked well with "the other side" - look at his voting history and bills he's sponsored or co-sponsored.
You will not see that with O. He's never really reached across like Mac has.
It's all public record.

What Change I Expect!
I expect John will publish a set of Presidential directives to all agencies which are under the Executive Branch. These directives will set ethics policies with enforcement mechanisms which will hold our public servants accountable to the people. There will be several very public take downs in several agencies.
Sarah, as the President of the Senate, will become the watch dog of Congress. She will bring down a few, maybe quite a few, corrupt high profile elected officials and unethical influence peddlers.
As most of these people are cowards this dual pronged approach will cause a ripple effect in Washington and across the country. The federal employees who approach their jobs as a Public Trust will be encouraged and the free loaders will start doing their jobs. As accountability and results become the standard our Government will make a slow but far reaching shift back toward our nations constitutional intent.

Big impact, real change, ripple effect, and doesn't require Democrats' cooperation!
