Very interesting about "bailout"
Brit Hme on Fox News Sunday just said the majority of the items in the bill labeled as "pork" or "extenders" actually had already been passed as a bill in the Senate 98-2, but had not yet been voted on in the House. Obviously, it wasn't something that was unpopular from the very beginning.

Right - and most were EXTENSIONS of already existing laws/bills.
Very little in it was new stuff. They were going to go through eventually anyway. People just don't get how congress works - if some things aren't tagged onto others, it would mean they would NEVER break for vacation!

I think it's interesting that John McCain voted for a bill that has over 100 earmarks...isn't he supposed to be Captain Earmark?

No, that would be Senator BO, who only decided earmarks are really really evil when he started the run for the White House.

Hey, troll, why are you still here? Aren't you ashamed of yourself yet?
It isn't "pork", but I guess comprehension isn't one of your long suit. If it was, you wouldn't be a Bot.

Re: Very interesting about "bailout"
Uh, check the articles in that bill. did you know that most had already PASSED the senate?? Yup. So they were basically a done-deal. Most were also simply extensions of existing breaks. The wood arrow thing? That's pure logic - ammo, including arrows, are taxed as hunting items. Wooden arrows as kids toys also fell into that. The bill simply excluded CHILD's TOYS from being taxed as HUNTING weapons. Period. Hardly pork, it's a logical and needed bill.
Congress, if they didn't tack things on like that, would be DROWNING in a sea of hundreds of bills! So they need to tack some onto others, especially EASY PASS items like that, to speed things up.
Most of that was hardly PORK. And like I said, they'd already passed in the senate with a near 100% vote FOR them.
READ the bill and understand it............don't go by what the media or the campaigns tell you is in it.

The wooden arrow thing is kind of interesting. Because the law was written incorrectly, a .33 arrow had a tax on it of .39. The bill simply was correcting an incorrectly written tax law.
"Pork" was the money in the original House bill that failed that would have had money going to the corrupt ACORN.

Good point, WA - talk about corruption. Let's see, how many states are investigating fraud by ACORN now?
Geesh, they sign up DEAD people as voters!
But look back at history and find socialists often work that way........ (even today)
This is more like Germany, 1932 - Nazi's even controlling the press.
I don't want my tax money going to ACORN and other hate groups

Re: Very interesting about "bailout"
I think there were at least 7 people in the Seattle area who were found guilty of voter fraud during the 2006 election. They were all ACORN employees. There was only 1 voter registration in 1600 handed in by one ACORN employee working in Seattle that was close to being a legal voter and his registration had problems with it. Most of the applications were of dead people, Disney characters, and things like that.
ACORN is totally corrupt. I think at least 10 states will not allow ACORN to do business in their state.
